FAQ
What services does Immercial Limited provide?
Immercial delivers system-led MEP cost management consultancy. We use proprietary workflows, the IMME Portal, governed templates, and structured commercial methodology to support cost planning, procurement, contract review, variations, and commercial clarity throughout delivery
What is the Immercial Method™?
The Immercial Method™ is a global standard for MEP quantity surveying and commercial cost management. It provides a coherent 19-step framework designed to deliver consistent, transparent, and high-quality commercial outcomes across every stage of project delivery.
How does the Immercial Method™ benefit projects and clients?
Clients and practitioners benefit from consistency through standard templates and processes, improved efficiency with structured workflows, continuous evolution through governed updates, and commercial control with transparent deliverables.
Can I use the IMME templates for free inside my business?
Yes — all IMME templates and workflow documents are free for internal use. However, they must be accessed via the official site, and redistribution, resale, or embedding into paid products without approval is prohibited under the IMME Licence.
Can we edit the templates to suit our company?
Yes, you may adapt templates for internal use, provided the core commercial logic, terminology, scope definitions, and benchmark principles remain unchanged and the IMME branding and version identifiers remain intact.
What is the IMME Academy?
The IMME Academy is the structured training and certification pathway. It helps students, graduates, junior, and professional QS practitioners develop real-world capability in MEP commercial workflows using the Immercial Method™.
Who is this academy and certification training for?
The programme is designed for:
• Students & graduates starting their QS careers
• Junior and practicing QS professionals
• Experienced QSs and organisations seeking recognised commercial capability credentials.
What does the academy cover?
Participants learn the practical 19-step IMME commercial lifecycle, a ready-to-apply workflow that covers everything from initial enquiry and tendering through cost plans, contract reviews, variations, and final cost reconciliation. This is the core structure around which experience and capability are built.
What is the IMME Portal and how does it benefit clients?
The IMME Portal is our secure platform for project delivery, document control, and collaboration. It provides contextual workflow support, audit-trailed activity, and governed access to templates, benchmarks, and structured commercial outputs.
It also hold the proprietry software version of the IMME pricing schedule.
How does Immercial maintain quality without a large internal team?
We use intelligent systems, senior-level delivery, and a close network of trusted collaborators. Our founder remains directly involved in client work. This lean model enables consistent quality, reduced overheads, and greater responsiveness—without sacrificing expertise.
Who will I be working with at Immercial?
All projects are led by Chris Mills, the founding owner, with guidance from trusted family members, close friends serving as advisors, and carefully vetted collaborators. You’ll benefit from senior-level insight at every stage.
Our unique business model allows us to delegate tasks seamlessly within our core network, supported by an ever-growing team of technical, AI, and systems specialists, as well as academy members. Instead of frequently changing team members, we maintain consistent expertise and continuity, eliminating crossover issues, productivity loss, or handover challenges—ensuring first-class delivery every time.
What’s the best way to get started with Immercial?
Contact us via our website www.immercial.co.uk or directly through our founder, Chris Mills. We’ll assess your project needs, recommend the most suitable tier, and provide an onboarding pathway into the IMME Portal for immediate collaboration.
Can we switch tiers mid-month if our needs change?
In most cases, we review and adjust tiers at the end of each month, based on how the engagement played out. If intensity spikes unexpectedly and sustained support is needed beyond the agreed tier, we’ll flag this early and discuss next steps — either a one-off extension or a tier shift from the following month.
Are all Tiers efficient?
Yes, all tiers are structured to suit a stable working rhythm—a well-scoped, predictable engagement with focused collaboration and minimal interruptions. Driving the best balances of momentum, clarity, and cost-efficiency.
Do you offer embedded team members?
No. We deliver high-leverage outcomes, not embedded team members. Our model is designed to create lasting results and long-term delivery capacity—always available to you, but working within a clear consulting and process-driven framework. We focus on strengthening your internal clarity and capabilities, while giving you the confidence to rely on the consistent quality of our service.
What’s not included in an engagement tier?
Anything outside the agreed project scope — including new initiatives, general business consulting, or unrelated ad hoc requests. If something feels like it’s outside scope, we’ll flag it early and suggest a clear path forward.
Can we pause or scale back delivery if priorities shift?
Yes — but we don’t recommend a stop-start approach. Strategic delivery works best with momentum. If something changes, we’ll suggest how to scale the engagement in a way that protects the integrity of your project.
Which sectors has Immercial worked with most extensively?
Immercial has experience across Hotels, High-End, data centres, logistics warehouses, distribution hubs, automotive innovation centres, robotics labs, aviation, commercial, rail, and F&B storage facilities, collectively spanning over 165 projects valued at approx £17 billion MEP only cost experience.
What makes Immercial’s mission and vision unique?
Mission
Deliver expert MEP cost consultancy through proprietary systems and a global network of specialists, maximising client capacity, accelerating delivery, and ensuring consistent, high-value outcomes.
Unify global MEP cost management with shared frameworks, benchmarks, and knowledge, enabling every project, company, and professional to work under one standard, symbolised by our logo.
What is your consultancy delivery model—and why is it different?
We work exclusively in MEP cost management, typically using an outcome-based, fixed-tier model. Our approach leverages proprietary systems, portals, and AI to deliver scalable, efficient, founder-led results. We’ve developed products no other MEP cost consultancy can match, uniquely positioning us for sustained growth and reinforcing our niche leadership.
Can Immercial work internationally or only in the UK?
Yes. While we’re UK-based, our systems and delivery model are designed for international consultancy. We’ve supported projects across Europe and are fully equipped to engage with clients globally.
What types of clients are not a good fit for Immercial?
We’re best suited to clients who value clarity, trust independent advice, and are open to smarter, system-led consultancy. If you’re looking for traditional hourly-based QS firms or prefer lowest-cost models at the expense of quality, we may not be the right fit.
What is IMME AI?
IMME AI is the authoritative digital guide to the Immercial Method™. It explains what to do, why it matters, and how to apply each template and workflow correctly. It is method governance support — not a pricing engine or decision-maker.
How do I access IMME AI?
You can use IMME AI by signing in with your LinkedIn account for public method guidance, or your IMME Portal credentials for deeper workflow context and template sequencing guidance.
Login status helps IMME AI tailor explanations to your role. (LinkedIn or Portal login required.)
Is IMME AI replacing human judgement?
No. IMME AI supports professional learning and consistent application of the Immercial Method™ but does not make commercial decisions, price work, replace QS judgement, or provide legal advice.
Does IMME AI use my data to train broader models?
No. IMME AI is developed and governed by Immercial. It is trained only on IMME knowledge modules and controlled content. It does not train or feed third-party AI models with your data.
What is an IMME Tier compared to hourly billing?
An IMME Tier represents a weekly delivery rhythm—structured by intensity of engagement, not clocked hours. Rather than billing by time, we offer delivery-focused tiers. You pay for high-value work aligned with outcomes—not time spent. This models fairness, clarity, and efficiency across engagements. Each tier applies to a specific project or scope of work.
Why was the Immercial Method™ created?
Traditional industry practices suffered from inconsistent templates, variable standards, fragmented processes and unclear assumptions, which often exposed clients to commercial risk. The Immercial Method™ addresses these problems with a clear 19-step workflow and structured templates that ensure every part of the commercial lifecycle — from initial enquiry to final cost value reconciliation — is documented, traceable, and aligned.
Who is the Immercial Method™ for?
The method is designed for MEP quantity surveyors, commercial professionals, engineers and teams who want a repeatable, data-driven and scalable way to manage costs and commercial outcomes across projects, supported by governance and community-driven improvements.
Can we upload IMME templates to our intranet / SharePoint / another website?
No — templates must be accessed from the official source to keep version control and a single point of truth. If you need an internal distribution approach, contact us for an approved route.
Can we use IMME content to train an AI tool?
No — third-party AI training on IMME IP is not permitted. IMME AI is developed by Immercial and governed within the IMME ecosystem.
How does the certification work?
The certification framework includes multiple tiers (e.g., student, practitioner, professional, accredited organisation), each with specific requirements and outcomes like blockchain-verified credentials, digital badges, and global listing opportunities — designed to formally recognise and signal capability within the ecosystem.
What outcomes do participants get?
Successful learners earn verifiable credentials (often delivered as digital NFT badges tied to their certification level), a unique certification ID, and may appear on the IMME Global Register — increasing industry visibility and career or business opportunities.
How does the Academy link to the future of the profession?
The programme positions participants not just as QS practitioners but as future-ready professionals who understand emerging technology (including AI integration) and advanced commercial workflows — setting them up to lead in an evolving, data-driven MEP landscape.
How do Immercial’s engagement tiers work?
We offer three project-specific IMME Engagement Levels, each charged per project, per month, and focused on outcomes rather than hourly billing:
– **Tier 1 – Priority IMME Support (£10,000 per project, per month)**
Regular, priority support for projects with higher workload or complexity where frequent involvement is needed without full-time commitment.
– **Tier 2 – Scheduled IMME Support (£6,250 per project, per month)**
Support delivered on a planned schedule aligned to key decision points and milestones.
– **Tier 3 – On-Demand IMME Support (£4,000 per project, per month)**
Targeted support at specific points to review, validate, or enhance project outputs when required.
Each engagement is scoped to a specific project and reviewed monthly based on progress and needs.
Can Immercial adjust support levels during busy or quiet periods?
Yes. Our model is designed for flexibility. We can scale support temporarily to meet project surges, then reduce when appropriate—all within your monthly tier cap. If your needs shift consistently, we’ll proactively recommend and agree any tier adjustment.
How is travel and site attendance handled?
Our model is remote-first. Occasional travel within London and the South East is included. Travel beyond this may be accommodated without charge, but long-distance or international visits may incur a one-off, pre-agreed surcharge—aligned with our efficient, focused delivery style.
Are there any hidden costs or additional charges?
No. All our fees are fully inclusive of operational costs—software, licences, workspaces, etc. We operate with total transparency. Any exceptional cost (e.g. long-distance travel) is discussed and agreed upfront. Terms of sale can be reviewed at www.immercial.co.uk.
What happens if we exceed the agreed tier?
If delivery demands go meaningfully beyond the scope of your current tier—especially due to short-notice requests, last-minute changes, or additional involvement—we’ll raise this promptly. When appropriate, we can extend delivery via additional time at the prevailing rate. Regular overages will trigger a tier review to keep things fair and focused.
What kind of work do you actually deliver?
We specialise in strategic delivery — bringing together systems, content, messaging, and process into execution. We’re not a branding agency or a traditional consultancy — we’re here to move projects forward, solve what’s stalled, and build scalable momentum.
Do you work on one-off projects or ongoing support?
Both. Our IMME Tiers can be scoped for a fixed-duration delivery sprint or long-term engagement. Each tier is project-specific, so if your needs grow, we can layer in a new scope separately without derailing existing work.
What’s the IMME Portal and what do I actually get access to?
The IMME Portal is your secure space to track progress, access delivery outputs, and collaborate with us. You’ll have full visibility of what’s happening, what’s next, and what’s needed from you. No chaotic email threads — just structured delivery.
What do I need to provide to get started?
Clarity. We don’t need long onboarding docs — just a clear sense of your priority, current pain points, and your end-goal. From there, we’ll shape the engagement and recommend the best tier to start.
How quickly can you start?
Usually within 5–10 working days after our introductory call, subject to availability. If we see an urgent need or gap, we’ll tell you honestly whether we can meet it — or if we’re not the right fit.
Who leads my project and how is quality maintained?
Every project is led personally by Chris Mills, supported by trusted collaborators and guided by intelligent systems.
Is Immercial independent or affiliated with any contractors or suppliers?
Immercial is 100% independent. We do not accept commissions, kickbacks, or incentives from contractors, manufacturers, or suppliers. Our advice is entirely impartial—based solely on what’s best for your project’s outcomes and long-term value.
What’s Immercial’s approach to sustainability and reducing environmental impact?
We believe sustainability goes beyond carbon materials—it’s also about reducing wasted time, data duplication, and unnecessary consultancy overhead.
At Immercial, we minimise our footprint by working remotely from our own offices, reducing travel and non‑essential site presence. Our delivery model is designed to be efficient by default—cutting out bloated processes and unnecessary layers of cost bureaucracy.
On live projects, we align with client and supplier sustainability goals at the contract stage.
More importantly, we’re developing our own eco benchmarks—focused on eliminating waste in how MEP cost consultancy itself is delivered. Through smarter systems, streamlined templates, and data-first thinking, we’re creating a leaner, cleaner approach fit for the new era.
How does Immercial fit within the future of MEP consultancy?
We’re not here to compete with traditional models—we’re here to redefine how MEP cost consultancy works.
Our systems, delivery model, and tier structure are designed not just for today’s projects, but for the future of the industry: data-led, lean, fast, and value-focused.
We expect—and welcome—others to follow, adopt, and collaborate with our approach.
This isn’t about disruption for its own sake. It’s about building a smarter baseline: less waste, more clarity, and consistent outcomes that benefit the entire ecosystem—clients, consultants, and suppliers alike.
What limitations should I expect from IMME AI?
IMME AI is not a pricing engine, decision-maker, commercial evaluator, or legal advisor. It provides guidance aligned to templates and method sequence, with clear, concise professional language.
Can we train or use IMME content with other AI tools?
No. Under the IMME Licence, third-party AI training on IMME IP is not permitted. IMME AI is the only supported AI guided by governed knowledge modules.
How does Immercial maintain quality without a large internal team?
Immercial uses intelligent systems, senior consultants, and a network of trusted collaborators. Governance, standards, and method clarity are embedded in every deliverable and interaction.
